Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sheref S. Mansy

Sheref S. Mansy received his BS and PhD degrees from the Ohio State University where he studied the biosynthesis of iron-sulfur clusters with Jimmy Cowan. He then went on to carry out postdoctoral work on protocells with Jack Szostak. After winning a career development award from the Armenise-Harvard foundation, he setup a laboratory in the mountains of Italy. At the University of Trento his lab constructs artificial cellular mimics that chemically communicate with living cells and explores the prebiotic chemistry of iron-sulfur peptides. He is a TED Fellow and a Simons Investigator.
